Over the Rainbow Montessori schools are for children between the ages of two to six years of age. We ask that our children have the developmental skills to actively participate in our program. We accept children without regard to race, color, or creed. We encourage ethnic diversity as it more truly reflects the world around us and encourages the children to learn about other cultures.

Our schools have 3 grades: Primary, Pre-K, and Kindergarten. Classes for two and three year olds have one teacher for every eight students; for older children, there is a minimum of one teacher for every twelve students. Each grade curriculum is carefully designed for the appropriate age group.

We are open Monday through Friday. Our regular hours are from 6:30 6 p.m., although we may be able to accommodate a parent who needs an earlier arrival time.

At Over the Rainbow Montessori Schools our goal is to promote a high level of self-esteem in every child entrusted to our care. We accomplish this through the use of lesson plans that value each child's creativity. At Over the Rainbow Montessori Schools we do not "teach" our children, bur rather we facilitate their development by encouraging them to question, experiment, and discover the world around them. Our curriculum is tactile-based because we believe that children learn best through hands-on experiences. There is never an unimportant question or comment; and there is never a wrong answer, only lots of possibilities.

Over the Rainbow Montessori Schools provide nutritious morning and afternoon snacks. Parents may send their child with a nutritionally dense, low sugar lunch each day, one that includes milk or some kind of juice. Our morning snack is usually served at 9:00, lunches are served at noon, and our p.m. snacks are served at 3:10.

After the lunch we have every day a quiet rest time. Although no one is required to nap, everyone is asked to rest quietly on a mat for a period of time. We provide a mat for each child, and a sheet will be provided upon payment of the registration fee. Each child may bring a small blanket, pillow or stuffed toy with them if desired.
